2. Structures and operating principles
2.1 This Trommel Screen consists of seven main components: trommel screen outer frame, mounting plates, blind panels, screen panels, deflectors, guard liners and locking strips (refer to General Assembly). The outer frame is covered with corrosion resistant rubber. Stainless steel plates and mounting plates for deflectors installed on the bracing beams on the outer frame are used for the installation of screen panels and deflectors. 2.2 Operating principles
The trommel screen is attached to the flange of the fitting in the mill discharge end, fastening with bolts, nuts and spring washers. When the mill is rotating, ground material is fed into the trommel through the discharge spiral. The trommel rotates with the mill, and particles are classified through the openings in the screen panels resulting in a classification effect.
3. Installation and adjustment
3.1 Stainless steel mounting plates and mounting plates for deflectors are installed on the outer frame, where the mounting plates for deflectors are positioned against the positions of the deflectors and are fastened with bolts and washers.
3.2 Blind panels are mounted on the FE of the trommel before screen panels are placed over the trommel, where locking strips are used to hold the blind panels and screen panels on the mounting plates.
3.3 Deflectors are installed on the mounting plates for deflectors in order, and nuts are tightened with a socket wrench.
3.4 Guard liners on deflectors are installed on the first deflector and the last deflector of the three-start spiral. Refer to the General Assembly for the installation locations.
3.5 At last, guard liners are installed on the DE flange of the Trommel.
3.6 With the installation completed, examine connections of all parts of the trommel, and be sure they are firm and robust, and no loose bolts are found. When the trommel rotates, the trommel structure is stable and no swing is seen.
Note: to facilitate the lifting, one piece of screen panel is removed from the DE flange. This panel shall be installed back to its position and locked with the locking strip once the trommel is positioned.
4. Using and maintenance
4.1 Periodically inspect all fasteners of the trommel screen. No loose fasteners should be seen.
4.2 Periodically inspect screen panels for any looseness, cracks or damages. If so, replace it in time.
4.3 When lifting the trommel, rubber plates or timber shall be placed on the lifting points to protect the surface, or nylon lifting slings be used so as to prevent the rubber coating on the outer frame from being damaged.
4.4 Rubber products should be stored in shade and dry places, to avoid corrosion and aging.
